I Am The Stone That The Builder Refused

1318020

I am the stone that the builder refused,

I am the visual,

The inspiration that made lady sing the blues,

I am the spark that makes idea bright,

The same spark that lights the dark,

So that you can know your left from your right,

I am the ballot in the box,

The bullet in the gun,

The inner glow that lets you know to call your brother son,

The story that just begun,

The promise of what’s to come,

And I’ll remain a soldier until the war is won.

(Lyrics by Asheru)

These words can be taken many ways and turned to suit the ends of the unjust and the power hungry.

But that is not how these words were writ, not how they were intended.

They are like the mantra of the truth-speakers and the brave souls still fighting for social justice in an age of mainstream racism on media entities like Fox News.

I will remain a soldier until this war is won. I want to make that clear. I am not backing down, nor going away.

They’ll have to kill me to get me to stop spreading the truth about the corruption in our government and our press.

Kayne Opened The Door For Me

(Kanye West Disrespects Taylor Swift at MTV Awards from Dakota O’Neill on Vimeo)

Kayne West and his jackassery have opened the door for me to talk about something that probably is little discussed amongst the trash-talk and ridiculous defenders of West. As a fan of his music, and someone who knew his name before this little stunt, I feel I should take a short walk into both the true motives of Kayne’s interruption and the belly of the beast called “modern culture.”

The first of Kayne West’s secret motives for jumping up on stage like a Joe Wilson-wannabe was to try and get into Beyonce’s pants. And he failed. Because like myself she was offended by his actions and gave Taylor her moment back after big-bad Kayne took it away. Beyonce is all class.

The second secret motive was fighting what might be called a ‘vast rightwing conspiracy‘ of mixing of country music / Disney Enterprises with rap music / MTV Enterprises. I doubt Kayne West would ever use that language, but I contend that this was probably why he actually did it.

At least in his view, mine too most likely if I ever watch both videos, this was a bone thrown to the growing country music audience in the younger generation.

It’s like teenagerist culture wars hiding underneath the surface of the VMAs.

The final secret motive was what I already said at the top of the blog: this was a stunt. Probably not a planned stunt but a stunt none the less. The more arrogant and over-the-top he is, the more records he is likely to sell.

Name of the game.

I like to hear that the president has my back on the issue. At least on the first part with the jackassery, anyway.

Alan Keyes Done Got Locked Up

Mr. Keyes, please report to the commissary.”

Locked Up” by Akon

I’m steady tryin’ to find the motive, why I do what I do,

The freedom ain’t gettin’ no closer, no matter how far I go,

My car is stolen, the registration,

The cops patrolling, and that ain’t done stop me,

Then I got locked up,

They won’t let me out,

Head up town to re-up, back with a couple [Keyes],

Making so much money, products moving fast,

And as I sold the last bag,

Fuqed around and got locked up,

They won’t let me out,

Visitation long longer comes by, seems like they forgot about me,

Commissary getting empty, cell mates getting food without me,

Can’t wait to get out and move forward with my life,

Pay me a visit! Send me some money orders! Where’s my lawyer?

Get me out of here!

Please accept my phone calls!
