Cut It All Right In Two

Right in Two” from 10,000 Days by Tool

Angels on the sidelines,
Puzzled and amused,
Why did Father give these humans free will?
Now they’re all confused,

Don’t these talking moneys know that,
Eden has enough to go around?
Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys,
When there’s one you are bound to divide it,
Right in two,

Angels on the sidelines,
Baffled and confused,
Father blessed them all with reason,
And this what they choose,

Monkey killing monkey, killing monkey,
Over pieces of the ground,
Silly monkeys give them thumbs,
They forge a blade,
And when there’s one,
They’re bound to divide it,
Right in two,

Monkey killing monkey, killing monkey,
Over pieces of the ground,
Silly monkeys give them thumbs,
They make a club,
And beat their brother down,
How they survive so misguided is a mystery,

Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to life an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here,

Cut it right all,
Right in two,

Fight over the clouds, over wind, over sky,
Fight over life, over blood, over prayer,
Over head and light,
Fight over love, over sun,
Over another, Fight…

Angels on the sideline again,
Benched along with patience and reason,
Angels on the sideline again,
Wondering when this tug of war will end,

Cut it right all,
Right in two,

Right in two…

I cast the Judgment of Solomon upon my fellow Americans.

This swaddled child of fragile democracy passed down to us from generations of proud Americans shall be for neither the leftwing nor the rightwing — we shall divide it in half. For we cannot come to terms and no aggrieved party shall ever be satisfied henceforth.

Just as the internet already has become complete in its utter division and quartering-off into tightly bound untouching spheres; as shall the the Union be broken forever and the United States shattered to nothing but individual states so that if any union is to be formed it may be formed anew. The same sword that the slew the free web should also slay the entire United States for the electronic landscape is but a mere reflection of what we are as a modern people and as a modern society.

We as a people, as a political and deliberating body, do not communicate any longer and as such it is time to crush the false former preconception that there is such a structure in this world called “The United States of America” as such an entity does not currently exist.

There is but one fair solution: we part our ways from the notion of unity altogether.

People need not tolerate one another any longer, we shall cast our entire social structure into rigid fixtures that do not touch one another. People need not be confused by differing views any longer, we shall keep our intellectuals isolated unto themselves in tight-knit groups that do interact with each other let alone the outside world.

Freedom and liberty can be redefined, just as morality and justice have been in the present day.

We will survive, but first we have to lay down and die.

We will thrive, but first we must lay our head in the guillotine.

Another Lonely Day

Another Lonely Day” By Ben Harper

Yes indeed, I’m alone again,
And here comes emptiness crashing in,
It’s either love or hate, I can’t find in-between,
Cause I’ve been with witches, and I’ve been with a queen,

It wouldn’t have worked out anyway,
So for now it’s just another lonely day,
Further along we just may,
But for now it’s just another lonely day,

I wish was something that I could say or do,
I could resist anything but, the temptation from you,
But I’d rather walk alone, than chase you around,
I’d rather fall myself, than let you drag me on down,

It wouldn’t have worked out anyway,
So for now it’s just another lonely day,
Further along we just may,
But for now it’s just another lonely day,

Yesterday seems like a lifetime ago,
Because the one I love today, I hardly know,
You who I held so close in my heart,
Grow further from me with every falling tear,

It wouldn’t have worked out anyway,
So for now it’s just another lonely day,
Further along we just may,
But for now it’s just another lonely day.

The King of Pop has passed away at the age of fifty. My condolences to the Jackson family in this time of grief. The hearts of the nation, of the entire world, mourn with you in this time of tragedy.

The man has left us, but The Legend will never die. He lives on in his fans across the world and across all cultures. His spirit lives with his vast contribution to popular music and music at large. He will be forever missed.

Alan Keyes Done Got Locked Up

Mr. Keyes, please report to the commissary.”

Locked Up” by Akon

I’m steady tryin’ to find the motive, why I do what I do,

The freedom ain’t gettin’ no closer, no matter how far I go,

My car is stolen, the registration,

The cops patrolling, and that ain’t done stop me,

Then I got locked up,

They won’t let me out,

Head up town to re-up, back with a couple [Keyes],

Making so much money, products moving fast,

And as I sold the last bag,

Fuqed around and got locked up,

They won’t let me out,

Visitation long longer comes by, seems like they forgot about me,

Commissary getting empty, cell mates getting food without me,

Can’t wait to get out and move forward with my life,

Pay me a visit! Send me some money orders! Where’s my lawyer?

Get me out of here!

Please accept my phone calls!

This Machine Kills Fascists: Woody Guthrie

519632_caebcf94081Ain’t got no guitar. Not no more. Some fellow done run off with it. But this here laptop done be my guitar.

And I aims to kill me some fascists. Got this here on the dime of Uncle Sam.

Fellow named George W. Bush gave little old me a check and here we are.

Do believe I have heard a talker or two call Mr. Bush a fascist. That I do recall hearin’ of this man.

But ain’t no fascist alive that let’s his power slip. Not no how, no way.

Them two fellers Obama and Bush did a just dandy job and handin’ over the reigns of Lady Liberty from one to another.

Here in the good ol’ US of A we still have a fondness of old fashioned democracy. Letting the folks decide.

Woody Guthrie was a singer and songwriter who came of age in Oklahoma as the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression all but destroyed the homes and lives of many of those around him. A natural wordsmith who loved music, Guthrie turned the stories he saw all around him into songs — some funny, some deadly serious, and nearly all dealing with his vision of a better and more just America. Guthrie roamed the country much of his life, performing with the left-wing Almanac Singers, writing a column for the Daily Worker, publishing a wildly entertaining autobiography called Bound for Glory, working as merchant seaman, and raising a family in between. A handful of the 3,000 songs Guthrie wrote have become standards (most notably “This Land Is Your Land,” “Pastures of Plenty,” “Deportees,” and “Grand Coulee Dam”), and it’s all but impossible to imagine the work of Bob Dylan or the rebirth of folk music in the ’50s and ’60s without his guiding influence. Woody Guthrie: This Machine Kills Fascists is a documentary which offers an honest and unblinking look at Guthrie’s life and career, featuring interviews with friends, fans, and historians who offer insight into his music and the man behind it. Mark Deming,   — All Movie Guide

Let’s Talk About Gangs

I just broke down the entire gang-structure of our area for my mother after she asked and suddenly realized that I have some amount of knowledge on this. And some small level of understanding of what role I can play in terms of the issue as a whole.

“Live by the sword, die by the sword.”

These words sum up my personal feelings towards owning weapons. However, the issue is not as simple as my personal reservations.

“Let the fittest survive, and the weak be food for the strong.”

This is not some crazed sentiment bandied about in movies or rap music but rather a fundamental way of thinking. A way of thinking I call being ‘criminal minded‘. This sole element is what I can relate to when speaking within my own experiences.

In a certain mindset people become ‘marks‘ and therefore weak enough to steal from or kill if necessary.

I understand well what it means to want to take without asking and claim what is ours by right of the fact that you were clever enough to take it.

But it is a cycle of destruction. And nothing more.

While gang ‘culture’ abounds it seems to me that many simply fail to understand how exceedingly complex these issues are.

I simply cannot discuss much of what I know here on this format, but there are things I can do.

Like say that my local police department has failed to properly guard against gang violence. Is the same true for you? Look into it.

In my experiences I have spoken with many former-affiliated individuals and most anything I understand is simply second-hand from them.

The only organization I can freely decry is the Cartel. They have invaded US territory in so many facets for so many years it is almost immeasurable. The phrase: “They are everywhere” applies here. But nonetheless the government takes open and often hostile actions against them. Therefore I know I can attack them by name and I am not alone.

My question is simple: Who will back me if I start denouncing local gangs or individuals?

I don’t wish to do this but rather am making a point. In the absence of a clear and present resistance to the spreading of gangland violence in my neighborhood I am remiss to start laying the issue out.

I encourage action over discourse in this specific matter, the danger of inaction is too high.
